There’s no way anyone could ever do it alone, so here are some of our top tips for managing our anxiety 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿.

  1. Awareness Is Key 👀👀

Creating an awareness of what anxiety looks and feels like for you opens the door to dealing with it swiftly and feeling prepared to handle it when it shows face 🤺🤺🤺.

We are all susceptible to anxiety 😳 — especially during transitory periods in our lives.

Being more aware of the state of your mind and body helps to control its impact.

Notice changes within yourself: your moods, your engagement with those around you, and how your body feels 👩🏿🧑🏾.

  • What kinds of thoughts are you having?

  • What bodily sensations are you getting?

  • Are you feeling more closed off than usual?

  • Are you having a harder time speaking up?

These uncomfortable feelings could be an indication of anxiety.

  1. Identify Your triggers 😤😤😤

Triggers vary from person to person, but there are situations and feelings likely to get to all of us simply because we’re connected by the very human desire to feel safe, loved, and seen.

Things that threaten this, whether perceived or in actuality can cause for a person to become “triggered” — potentially giving way to feelings of anxiety or even a panic attack.

Once you're aware of them, try to limit your exposure to them if you can.

There’s nothing like remaining present and taking good, long deep breaths 😮‍💨.

Panic attacks can be scary and unpredictable, but if you find yourself in that situation, steady and calming breathing is your new best friend 🫶🏿.

Take yourself outside your noisy and occupied thoughts by **focusing on things which are concrete, certain, and solid.

For instance, shift your focus onto your surroundings — what can you hear 🦻🏽,taste 👅, see👀, smell 👃🏿 and touch ✋🏾?

In the fast-paced 💨 environments we often find ourselves working in, it's easy to think we need to be doing everything all the time.

Take a moment to prioritise your priorities — deal with the things that matter the most first to lessen the stress 😓.

Remember, we’re all working to live not living to work 🙌🏿.

Be in tune with yourself ✌🏾.

Instead of worrying about your mind wandering, pay attention to where it wanders.

By focusing more on the present, we worry less about the past and the future where anxiety usually lies 🤧.

The world can be a tough place, don't add to that toughness. Be kind to yourself — you deserve all of the kindness.

Self comfort and speaking kindly to yourself go a really long way in easing anxiety.

Speak to yourself the way you would a friend🙋🏿‍♂️🙋🏾.

You would never call a friend names or berate them for going through something so hard so why would you deserve that anymore than them🤷🏿‍♀️?

Anxiety tends to feel like a very alienating emotion and experience, but it really doesn’t have to be ✨.

Your friends, family, or even your colleagues can help ease your anxiety ❤️.

Of course, professional therapists can also help you navigate through the difficult situations in your life.

Don’t face something so big and heavy alone when you have an entire support system ready for you to lean on them 😊.

Part of being human is going through experiences, emotions, and days that feel completely beyond you. But it also means coming to terms with the fact that everything you need is within you — there is no kosher too big to face or fight. You’ve got this the same way you’ve had everything else.
